Here are some things that many photographers think they understand but I doubt that they understand the technical side of things. So, to resolve the illiteracy of photographers here are some helpful tech links.
Good book to read in spare time if interested.

I am already confused by the reading.. But I will try again.
Do you think it is important for an image maker to understand all of those terms? If so why.
Also, how are you getting a pop up window in your blog roll. Very nice.

I don’t think it is necessarily important for an image maker to understand the terms, but to understand the concepts behind the terms is somewhat important. I mean, why would RIT invest all that money in paying the photo tech professors money to teach the advertising/fine art/PJ students the technical side of film and digital photography. Understanding the fundamental concepts behind one’s medium is supposed to allow the image maker more freedom in the medium, more control (and everyone loves control, which is why people shoot RAW without being able to actually say what they like about RAW other than “more control”), and more possibilities with that control.
So is it important is the question… and frankly not unless you want it to be. But, if you want to here it is somewhat.
PS – the pop up preview thing is a new feature in wordpress that is automatic and your site does it too (only on posts created after Thursday 1/12? I think.)
